Dear Jeff and Michelle,

It is with gratitude that I send this message to you – you have introduced us to the Blessed Life and God has moved so much for us.

A year ago my husband and I sat together through your personal finance presentation. We both had knots in our stomachs knowing that we needed to start doing what you had been doing. After that message, we jumped in head first – without a helmet it felt like – by giving back to God what was His. We made our statement we were trusting God with everything, but we had made a beautiful mess of our finances to date. That day changed everything.

In a year time, we were able to pay off almost a third of our debt (which equated to 50% of our take home pay). How we did that and still provided for a family of seven is all God. He made it work and we got to see how. When the money was ending and the month seemed like it wouldn’t, God would send a relative with a bag full of groceries or a friend would pay for a tank of gas or the kids would discover a new game using things that we already had. As we continued to give, God continued to bless us with time to spend healing, learning and growing together as a couple and a family.

This year when you shared your story, the knots in our stomach were replaced with a sense of accomplishment and appreciation, and, as crazy as it sounds, an excitement for what God will reveal this year as we give to His missions and stay responsible to our debts. Thank you for sharing your past mistakes and the Joy you have found in giving! We want what you have!

Now we are in the process of digging ourselves out from under our:  1.  Credit Line, 2.  Credit Card, 3. School Loan.

I am writing this post for several reasons:

1. To say thanks to Joe Sangl

   for the IHHE (I HAVE HAD ENOUGH) moment and the tools to make it happen.

2. To remind myself that we ARE making progress!

   Getting out of debt feels like treading water with a ton of bricks on your back.

3. To stay on track and work the plan! Lately I have been wanting a motorcycle in a bad way.  Only problem is that if I get a bike it will put me right back in the same situation I was in when we started this thing!
4. To have those closest to me encourage me and keep me accountable!

Here are my goals:

• Pay off the Credit Line in the next 4 months.
• Pay off the Credit Card in the next 14 months.
• Pay off the School loans in the next 24 months.
• Attack the house like a madman!
