4 year Birthday Recap

Yesterday we celebrated our 4th Birthday as a church! It was the greatest worship gathering that we have had…so far! I have never been more proud of our Lifepoint team than I was yesterday. Countless hours, planning, and volunteers went in to prepare for this celebration. I’ll do my best to recap all that took place.

We brought the whole church together for one celebration service at Kenan Auditorium.
Our teams arrived at 7am to start setting up. They had to work at an incredible pace to get the place set up.
The serviced kicked off with some special videos from some of the pastors that have greatly shaped my life. Thank you Pastors Matt Fry, Perry Noble, Steven Furtick, Rick Bezet, and Dino Rizzo!
Our KidZone kids and team joined our band on stage for the first 2 songs: Rise and Sing and All because of Jesus.
Pastor Daryl kicked off his announcements by having everyone do the wave. I don’t think that has been done in a church service before!
He also shared that thanks to the generosity of Lifepoint we will be drilling 6 wells in Namibia this year. Where’s Namibia?
We baptized over 30 people!
Probably the craziest news is that I preached in dress pants with my shirt tucked in! And I liked it! Pics to come.
Our dreamteam served with all they had!
I think 95% of the attendance was ON TIME!

We’re Turning 4!

I’ll never forget when Michelle and I started having kids people would tell us, “They grow up fast!” I used to think that was a cliche’. Now we have 3 kids ages 8, 7, and 5. To say they are “growing up fast” is an understatement. Not only are our kids growing fast but so is our church. It is hard to believe that Lifepoint is turning 4 years old this Sunday!

4 years ago we had a team of approximately 40 people. This weekend we have rented out Kenan Auditorium anticipating 1,000 people to come together to worship Jesus. God has been good!

I’d love to hear from the readers of Jeffkapusta.com…Can you recall the series we were in when you first started attending? How has God used Lifepoint to impact your life? Please share your stories in the comment section below.

We’ve come a long way since the kickoff back in 2006. Here is the mailer we sent out back then…I designed it!

One Worship Experience at 11am
Location: Kenan Auditorium on the campus of UNCW

Arrive Early. You are going to want a good seat for this party!
We’re gonna throw down.
Do not come alone. Bring someone with you.

We’ve got some special guests in the house this weekend!

Happy Birthday Daryl

Today we are celebrating Daryl’s Birthday. Daryl is:

the executive pastor at Lifepoint.
A follower of Jesus.
An amazing friend.
One of the coaches of the undefeated 2008 State Champion Hoggard Vikings Football team.
A great dad.
A big dreamer.
A survivor of Fayetteville.
A risk taker.
A leader.

Today the staff took off to On The Boarder to celebrate Daryl’s birthday. Nothing says “happy birthday” like some sizzling Fajitas!

After lunch we dove into some birthday cake and tribal dancing. Before long Daryl was sucking on the helium tank and the rest is history.

It’s official! Today is my birthday. I get to kick off the day by sipping some java, review my notes, and then step up and speak the word of God to Lifepoint Church! It’s the makings of a great day.
